Mills Property Management donates 400 pairs of shoes to Mission Haiti

Volunteers in Sioux Falls sort shoes for Mission Haiti

Sioux Falls, SD – September 17, 2009 - Lori Mennis, an employee of Mills Property Management, returned from a trip to Haiti in June with a personal mission to do more! Lori, along with a Sioux Falls radio station, Life 96.5, set-out to collect 500 pairs of shoes for Mission Haiti, an outreach organization that gives out shoes to Haitians. Shoes are not common in Haiti and owning a single pair gives you admission to school and church which is a desired place to be.

Mills Property Management employees donated 400 pairs of shoes!! A local church also contributed another 200 pairs to the cause. Combined with all the shoes donated in the Sioux Falls area, a total of 5,468 pairs were donated to the Mission. The shoes will be taken over time to Haiti in smaller groups. The Mission will then dispense the shoes to men, women and children in need.
